Property Companies Realising the Potential of Social Media
Social media was once seen as a quick way of getting articles indexed, or even used en masse in link building campaigns. CEO's or their hired marketing or SEO staff would mass bookmark their articles, on all the social bookmarking sites. Their articles would barely get more than a second glance eventually because other people using the platform would realise that it was being used solely for self promotion, and not the way it should be.
This was not useless, in that it was achieving its aims, getting articles indexed quicker, and building back-links, but it was badly underestimating the power of social media as a marketing tool.
Now some CEO's and marketing staff are beginning to realise the potential of creating a presence for their companies on these platforms, creating company accounts and really using the platform in the way that it was intended; joining groups, posting updates on what they're doing and bookmarking interesting content not only their own. This is paying dividends, as can be seen from the size of the Facebook group set up by Spot Blue, and the following Homesgofast have on Twitter.
I myself have put Write About Property on Twitter and started my own Facebook group, see the links in the sidebar. Shameless plugging over.
