Overseas Property Agents: Descriptions Hold the Key
This is usually wither because agent's advertise property's from developers and they tend to use their information, which is copied and pasted from developer PDF's and pre-launch materials.
This leads to:
Worst case scenario: The developer is concentrating on building and all materials aren't done so agent's end up with little more than build-specifications as descriptions.
Best case scenario: the developer issues rough guides to prospective agents, which contain all the information jumbled together in a series of emails, and the agent cobbles a description together from these.
In both cases the poor write-ups usually result from neither the developer nor agent budgeting for a professional writer to do a proper sales description of the property.
This is a problem caused by and left over from the overseas property boom, when buyers and speculative investors, swept up in the moment were buying property pretty much on spec. How well a property description sold a property was largely irrelevant.
But now, as the credit-crunch has taken a scythe to the numbers of people looking to buy overseas property online, a higher percentage of these visitors must be converted into leads if agents are to survive. I advise all writers to hire professional writers to re-write their property descriptions as a priority.
