Now is the Time to Buy This Overseas Property
Demand for off plan property overseas as an investment is lower than at any time in the last 5 years. But many analysts believe that there is pent up demand to start buying overseas property again, that will start to be released in the latter part of this year. Thus, it is currently a buyer's market, but it won't be for much longer.
Around the world, in the "hot emerging markets" of yesterday, the off plan developments of last year and the year before are nearing completion. Buyers should take advantage of the market reality, to get one of those off plan units at a substantial discount.
Off plan property is sold below market value, because of the risk involved with buying a property off a piece of paper; a property that is yet to come into existence. But on a property that is nearly completed this risk is minimised. Buyers should start making offers on nearly completed off plan properties, which they may even get a further discount on if they haggle.
They can either flip it when people start buying again, which will definitely start happening next year, or hold it as a long-term investment making a rental income and a massive capital gain over 5-10 years.
The shrewdest investors may even be able to buy a property that has just been completed at the prices it was being sold at off the plan.
