Altinkum to Become Turkey Property Hotspot in Next 5 Years

As the global economic recovery begins to gather pace, starting in the big markets to work outwards, Altinkum is set to become one of the great Turkey property hotspots of the next five years it has been stated.

The new multi-million Pound marina, and proposals for a new world class golf course, will make the region, which already offers some of the cheapest property in Turkey even more attractive, according to Spot Blue.

"Altinkum was growing into one of the most popular places to buy property in Turkey before the international downturn set in. Since then, the massive, glitzy, celebrity style marina has been completed and opened complete with helipads to fly in celebrities for yacht parties.

"This alone would have made Altinkum a hotspot now buyers are returning, but now the regional council has just approved the development of a world class golf course on a 170 acre site. This can only increase the popularity of property in Altinkum."

Altinkum has always been popular with Brits buying property in Turkey, so much so that there are now many British developers operating in the region. While it wasn't the most popular place in Turkey during the boom years, its rapid growth in popularity attracted developers to build the biggest marina in the southern Aegean.

Unfortunately its development straddled the onset of the international downturn, and the massive effect forecast for the marina has been dampened by this. The growth potential is still there, pent up and ready for the recovery according to Walker, he said:

"Such a massive development as the marina is capable of adding thousands onto property values in the area. This happens because it makes property in the area more sought after for a number of reasons. Obviously this can only happen when there are sufficient numbers of people looking at buying property. So now that buyer numbers are increasing again, people will want to get into what is a clear growth region while prices are low."

The development of the golf course can only boost this potential for price growth continued Walker.

"Golf courses can launch a property market on their own if they are in the right place and with the right marketing. In a place that is as established and popular as Altinkum this golf course is tantamount to gold-dust."

Spot Blue is one of the UK's largest Turkish property agents, with property for sale in Turkey priced from £25,000.

Very interesting development. Do you know who has been selected to design the golf course?

Hi Gary,

At this stage it is only an idea. The tourism board has been approved and given a site for a golf course.

We will post updates here as they are made available.

Who is doing the design work on the golf course and who is the developer of it?
